John Turchin, president of
Turchin Properties, is a widely respected developer who is well-known

What brought you to Miami?
I am a native. My grandfather came to South Florida in 1927.

Q. How did you get involved in luxury
real estate?
I am a third-generation developer.
Q. How did you get involved in building
such beautiful homes?
It is my passion.
Q. In your opinion, what is the key to
building luxury real estate in Miami?
Selling a lifestyle! People want a complete product down to
the linens! If our client desires, the house is turned over
to them as a turn-key operation – the client brings his
toothbrush and personal belongings, and every other detail is
provided for them. If you can accomplish the most unique lifestyle,
this is the key to success. Comment on the trends you have witnessed
in South Florida’s real estate market. I believe we are
an international city. We have clientele/buyers from all over
the world that view Miami as one of the hot spots of the world,
and the outside still views our values as inexpensive compared
to other parts of the world. My belief is the weather, quality
of life, night life and the ease of travel to South America,
the Caribbean and Europe.

Where do you see your company in five years?
I will continue to develop the most unique homes in the world
– not the biggest, but the most unique. I do this out
of passion and out of my heart. I am driven by the passion to
create the most unique products that the mind can imagine and
consider. We are developing a complete mountain in North Carolina-and
anywhere in the world, wherever my passion and creativity takes
me. My motto is: “The only thing greater than living my
dream is sharing it”

your down time in Miami?
The ocean is my playground!

you most dedicated to?
I donate to multiple small charities.
